Rioja Single Vineyard Los Yelsones 2021, Cuentaviñas

This 100% Tempranillo is the fruit of a vineyard of less than one hectare at 550m elevation in La Rad cru at San Vicente de la Sonsierra, planted in 1970. It shows perfumed notes of cherries, raspberries and rose petals, with a subtle sweet spiciness. You can just drink in the aroma! Superbly refined on the palate, with fruit and spice flavours that refelect the aroma. There is the merest suggestion of dryness that indicates the potential for further development in the bottle, but this is wrapped in sumptuous finesse. Pretty much irresistible to drink straight away, this also displays much promise for those with the willpower to hold some back. Undoubtedly Grand Cru quality! Drink 2024-2034+
