Laurent Perrier Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature

This is amazing Champagne. Irresistible aromas of greengage and just-sliced Bramley apple waft from the glass, with Chablis-like crushed oyster shells and light, fresh greenness. On the palate, the fruit apparent on the nose is joined by lobster bisque, chervil and a hint of grapefruit. It’s inevitably dry, since it’s a Brut Nature (this means that no ‘dosage’ – or sweetening – is added when the Champagne is finished), however it has so much vibrancy and complexity that the dryness is far from obvious. Long, clean flavours, superb and very impressive.
