Gattinara DOCG Galizja 2013, Il Chiosso

With its beautiful, transparent red-tawny colour, this Gattinara DOCG has matured to perfection. It has a mellow, complex, nutty aroma, offering up suggestions of vanilla, cream and fragrant wood. In the mouth it is soft and restrained in style, with soft, evolved tannin. Despite its maturity, it has maintained excellent balance and freshness, and is superb to enjoy immediately. From the Alta Piemonte, Gattinara is a classic region making age-worthy wines from 100% Nebbiolo. More graceful and delicate than their illustrious cousins from Barolo, these are nevertheless noble, highly-prized and ageworthy wines.
