Serra Ferdinandea Bianco 2020, Planeta
£29.50
Pale yellow, tinged with sea green, the Serra Ferdinandea Bianco has scents of flint, cut grass, Sicilian medlars and freshly harvested wheat. On the palate, it is well-balanced between the freshness of the Sauvignon Blanc and the greater structure of the Grillo variety, with harmonious integration of the oak character. Serra Ferdinandea is named after a volcanic island that existed for just a few months between July and November 1831, and despite its short lifespan, became the subject of lively territorial dispute between the Sicilians, the French and the British. This wine is instead the result of Sicilian-French international collaboration, between the Planeta and Oddo families.
