O Fugitivo Uva Cão 2020, Casa da Passarella

Casa da Passarella have done an amazing job of taming the ‘dog grape’, Uva-Cão. This was traditionally planted at the entrance to vineyards to deter scrumping because of its notable level of acidity – it was known as ‘the grape that guards the vines’. Through gentle maturation in used, large, French oak barrels, ‘The Dog’ shows its true pedigree: a wine of finesse, freshness and elegance, with long, complex flavours. Bravo!
