Premier Grand Cru Classé 2011, Château Haut Brion
Elegant and complex, Château Haut-Brion red presents mineral aromas and a unique complexity. Its strength lies in the finish, which is surprisingly long. This aromatic persistence is due to its very noble origins. It is thought that around 2000 years ago, the virtues of the gravel soils for viticulture were discovered. In 1521, the term “cru” in the location “Aubrion” or “Haulbrion”, referred to the wine elaborated on this terroir. Over the following three centuries, the elevation of Haut-Brion’s reputation led it to the rank of ‘Premier Cru Classé’ in the Bordeaux Classification of 1855.
