Morey St Denis Premier Cru Clos Sorbé 2019, Frédéric Magnien
£88.50
Sandwiched between Gevrey-Chambertin to the north and Chambolle-Musigny to the south, Morey-St-Denis is often said to combine the former’s black-fruited intensity with the latter’s seductive silkiness. Wine has been made here by Cistercian monks since the early 1300s. Clos Sorbé is an east-facting Premier Cru which covers just 3⅓ hectares, with clay-limestone soil and some white pebbles on the surface, making a concentrated yet elegant wine.
