Grand Cru Pinot Blanc ‘Kirschgarten’ GG 2019, Knipser
Every bit as impressive as seriously swanky white Burgundy, this has a peach, pear, pineapple and papaya personality, with complex hints of creamy lees, toasty barrel and gunflint. On the palate, it has plenty of flavour concentration and complexity, with richness of texture and bright, balancing acidity. This can be enjoyed now and over the next seven years at least – maybe longer. Kudos to Knipser for giving Pinot Blanc (Weissburgunder) the chance to shine in a Grand Cru (Grosses Gewächs) vineyard site.
