The red slate of Erden generates some of the Mosel’s most celebrated Rieslings, with a prominent citrus undercurrent. The wines are full-bodied, quite spicy and generally more elegant than those from Ürzig. An excellent exposure allows the vines to bathe in sunshine. The nose has aromas of sweet citrus fruit and delicate herbal notes. A cool minerality on the palate is accompanied by honeyed tropical fruits and a refreshing spritz on the finish.
