From the makers of the ever-popular Papale Oro comes this smashing Salice Salentino. It's an impressive purple-black in colour, with impressively concentrated blackberry and plum aromas and flavours. Full-bodied and rounded, with tight structure but not too dry, with fantastic freshness and great length on the palate. Varvaglione makes this from around 85% Negroamaro and 15% Malvasia Nera. The vines were planted together and the fruit is picked at the same time, making this a modern-day 'field blend'.

Winemaking
Maceration at controlled temperature of 26°-28°C. After malolactic fermentation, aged in French and American barriques for at least 10 months.
