This has ripe, rich, enveloping purple plum, espresso and vanilla aromas, with hints of malt extract and carob. On the palate, it is tight, tangy and focused, yet even at this early stage of its development already displaying complex dimensions of flavour: intense fruit, dry yet fine tannin, oak, coffee and spice nuances. Enjoy immediately (decanting recommended) and over the next decade or longer. Nosotros is a wine produced only in the finest years, and is a 'nomad' - always from the best-performing vineyard site in the given vintage. In the exceptional, cool and dry 2019 growing season, this was the 1,150m altitude Paraje Altamira vineyard.

" ARGENTINE WINE OF THE YEAR 2022 - Classy and layered nose, showing minty blackberries, black sour cherries, cassis, cigars and minerals, following through to cocoa powder and fine-tuned balsamic savoriness. A medium-to full-bodied red with wonderful freshness, juicy fruit and poise on the palate. Incredibly long, focused and immaculate. Really well-rounded, complex and persistent. Real harmony and length. Drink or hold. This impressive offering, born of a dry and cool growing season, is the best representative of the prodigious success of Argentine malbecs from 2019. And at an international retail price of around $120, it’s a premium yet reasonable buy for a 99-point Argentine malbec – one whose typical, fleshy dark fruit you could enjoy immediately or keep for 20 years. " The 2019 Nosotros Single Vineyard Nómade Malbec was produced with grapes from Paraje Altamira (Finca La Delfina), but each year it can be sourced from different vineyards, hence the "nómade" in the name. The vineyard is around 25 years old, and the grapes fermented in a 6,500-liter oak vat with indigenous yeasts and had a 30- to 35-day maceration time, then matured in French oak barrels, 80% of them new, for 16 months, including malolactic. There's something earthy about it, and it's still marked by the oak and has some lactic undertones too but with moderate ripeness, 14% alcohol and very good freshness and balance to develop nicely in bottle and absorb it. "
Winemaking
Grapes were refrigerated at 8°C for 24 hours before crushing. Double selection of bunches then cold maceration for four days. Fermentation in 6,500-liter (1,700-gal) oak casks. Push-downs were performed. Fermentation at 28°-30°C, with wild yeasts. Post-fermentation maceration lasted 30-35 days. Malolactic fermentation occurred in barrels.
